It is dedicated to increasing America’s understanding of the world and contributing ideas to U.S. foreign policy.

In an ever-changing world, CFR’s work as a leading nonpartisan resource for information and ideas about foreign policy is more important than ever. At CFR, interns participate in one of the foremost paid internship programs in the foreign policy arena. They do work that matters alongside smart and dedicated staff in a diverse and inclusive environment.

  • Interns are paid a competitive hourly wage $18.00 an hour and are required to intern in-person in the New York office 14 to18-hours per week.
  • They are also offered professional development training as a foundation for future work in the field of foreign policy and international affairs.
  • All interns must have the legal right to work in the United States to be eligible for consideration.
